VitalCheck Wellness, on behalf of Photon Medical Group, is seeking a culturally sensitive and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) - Spanish Speaking to provide onsite health service and care. Patient care will be provided in-person and virtually at one of NYC Health + Hospitals’ Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Centers (HERRCs) making a difference in the lives of migrants.
Responsibilities
- Provides medical services at the scope and level of a Registered Nurse to preserve the health of employees and client personnel.
- Systematically assesses the urgent or emergent health needs of patients, analyzes data, and formulates a plan of care, with other members of the medical team, which is realistic in relation to the employee’s capabilities and job requirements.
- Recognizes and treats illnesses and injuries according to established operating instructions within the scope of licensure and regulations of state employment or practice.
- Records and maintains patient information in accordance with standard protocols, and the Privacy Act.
- Identifies and records the signs and symptoms of physical and mental conditions.
- Demonstrates proven success in stressful environments.
- Protects patients' privacy through confidentiality, infection control procedures, assuring consistent medication administration, and assuring proper storage and maintenance procedures for all equipment and supplies.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited Nursing school.
- Active and unrestricted RN license in New York.
- 2-3 years of experience as a RN preferably in Med/Surg, ER, or ICU. Triage experience will be a plus.
- ACLS or BLS certification.
- Experience in community-based services, shelters, immigrants; volunteer or mission experience with disaster relief, refugee, humanitarian relief, preferred.
- Empathy and sensitivity to the needs of diverse patient populations.
- Bilingual Spanish is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records systems.
- Must be able to commute to New York City and Boroughs.
