Full Description
VitalCheck Wellness, on behalf of Photon Medical Group, is seeking a culturally sensitive and compassionate Charge Nurse (RN) to provide onsite health service and care. Patient care will be provided in-person and virtually at one of NYC Health + Hospitals’ Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Centers (HERRCs) making a difference in the lives of migrants.
Responsibilities
- Systematically assesses the urgent or emergent health needs of patients, analyzes data, and formulates a plan of care.
- Lead RNs and nursing function to maintain efficient clinic operations.
- Oversee daily operations and manage clinical process and standard for clinics.
- Train and guide staff on the latest nursing protocols, patient management practices, and skills.
- Direct and supervise medical, nursing, and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health regulations.
- Monitor patient feedback and use it to improve our service quality.
- Support the recruitment process of vaccination staff.
- Manage patient records and information in accordance with standard protocols, and the Privacy Act.
- Demonstrates proven success in stressful environments.
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited Nursing school.
- Active and unrestricted RN license in New York.
- 3-5 years of experience as a RN preferably in Med/Surg, ER, or ICU. Triage experience will be a plus.
- 1-2 years of experience as a charge nurse.
- ACLS or BLS certification.
- Experience in community-based services, shelters, immigrants; volunteer or mission experience with disaster relief, refugee, humanitarian relief, preferred.
- Empathy and sensitivity to the needs of diverse patient populations.
- Bilingual in Spanish a Plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records systems.
- Must be able to commute to New York City and Boroughs.
